Is there an expiration date on Points?
This is an excellent question asked by Members and the answer is no, Blue Points don’t have an expiration date. But it’s important to know that staying active in the program is key. (And easy! And rewarding!) Because Points do become dormant if you become inactive for longer than 24 months. Keep reading to get the full picture.

The whole point of the Blue Reward is to earn Points and reward yourself as much as you can. Seriously. Whether you’re after big-ticket items or you prefer quick savings, the program pays off the most when you work it hard.
But we also understand that life gets in the way and getting rewarded isn’t always a top priority. Even if you’re participation drops a bit, that’s okay. You can keep your account active simply by performing one of the following actions at least once every 24 months:

- Earn a minimum of 1 Point at one of our participating partners.

- Redeem Points for a reward.

- Transfer Points to another account.
If you don’t take one of these actions within 24 months, your Blue Rewards account will be considered dormant. Once an account goes dormant, all Points within the account will be removed, and you’ll no longer receive Program updates from us by email.
How will I know when my account will become dormant?
We’ll notify you that your account is about to become dormant by email and an alert message when you log in to bluerewards.ca about 60 days before your Points are removed from your account. (Psst … make sure your email address is up to date, so you don’t miss our reminders.)
Once you collect, use, or transfer at least 1 Point, your profile will become active again within 24 hours. Read our FAQs for more info on dormancy and, specifically, how to avoid it.
